Planning the Take-OffJune 10
Capitalising on the spark of interest in the project shown by the media so far, the children developed their own advertising campaign to promote the Phoenix's grand public unveiling. This promises to be one of the top events of the school calendar, and maybe even Stoke-on-Trent's, but the unique thing about it is that the children are firmly at the helm!
Not only did the pupils arrange interviews with both print and broadcast media outlets, they even planned the catering, created a song to sing at the launch day, and made their own guest list. Thinking about what inspired them, the children elected to put one of their favourite authors at the top of the list: third Children's Laureate, Michael Morpurgo. To our delight, he was more than happy to comply!
