Research Trip on ConcordeMarch 27
We wanted to find out more about the design work that goes into aeroplanes so we went to see one of the most famous planes of all time: Concorde. We went to Manchester Airport and were given a guided tour of Concorde, up close it is massive and is an amazing thing to see. We found out about how it flew twice the speed of sound and how the Queen had been on it.
We went on an older DC-10 too, and the guides told us about all the different jobs people do when they work in the aviation industry. We tried on some of their workwear and went on the flight deck to sit in the pilot seats and try out the controls.
